Traveling Baby

Ben left yesterday to go to Kansas for more training. So Avery and I left today for her first road trip. We stopped in Knoxville to eat dinner with Susan, Patrick and my parents. Then we went on to Morristown and will spend a couple of days here. Avery slept the whole way. In fact, it took me 20 minutes to wake her up to eat when we got to Cookeville. Mom is excited to take Avery to All Saints' tomorrow and show off her new granddaughter. Thursday, we are headed back to Nashville to pick Ben up at the airport. Then it is on to Starkville to spend some time with his family.

One Month Checkup

Today was Avery's one month checkup. She now weighs 6 lbs 15 oz!! Almost two pounds more than when we brought her home. She is 19 3/4 inches long. She got her Hepatitis B vaccine, which she was not very happy about. Her Bugs Bunny bandaid is as big as her little leg.

Big Day!

Ben's new boss is in town this week and wanted to take us to dinner. Not wanting to leave our tiny girl, we decided to take her with us to Maggiano's. Yum! She was wonderful and didn't make a peep the whole time we were there. When we got home, we discovered Avery's umbilical cord stump had fallen off. So she got to take her first real bath! She was much happier being able to sit down in the warm water. After bath time, Miss Avery rolled from her belly to her back for the first time. And then rolled several more times to prove to her shocked parents she really could do it! What a day!

Avery had her first portrait session this weekend while her granddad was here. I'm sure there will be many, many more photo shoots in her future! Here are some of our favorite pictures.

Ben's Trip

Ben left Tuesday for Des Moines to start training for his new job. We are thankful that he wasn't out of town last week when Avery arrived. But we miss him terribly! Avery and I can't wait for him to come home on Saturday. Luckily, my mom was off this week and was able to stay with us while Ben is gone. She has been a huge help!

Happy Birthday, Ben!

Today is Ben's birthday. He is looking forward to a long afternoon of watching football with his girls! We are excited that Avery arrived in time to watch one UT game this year. We decided she was good luck since they won every game she attended this season :) She and Tucker are all ready to cheer the Vols on to a bowl victory.
